The story is about a young, smart and career oriented girl named Moira Madhwa working in a Mumbai-based consulting firm called Brevity who suddenly goes missing. She doesn’t respond to any calls or messages made by her friends and colleagues which turn them anxious. Initially they think that she will show up like the last time when she disappeared to a rehab without informing anyone but as days pass by they realize that something is not right. They fear that she might be in danger or raped and murdered somewhere. When Moira’s friends Avni and Piyush search Moira’s apartment Piyush’s weird behavior and the discovery of several medicines confuses Avni. Piyush’s wife Misha also had a fight with Moira when she met her the last time and even Moira’s relationship with her boss was complex. Is anyone of them related to Moira’s disappearance? Is Moira alive or something terrible has happened?
It’s a story of deception with a web of lies built by the author to keep the readers on the edge of their seats. The writing is flawless with a sterling climax and commendable characters. The book incorporated with elements of romance, drama and mystery focuses on the psychological states of its cast. The story is presented from multiple point of views which makes you connect more to each of them. It’s a complete page turner with various elements of surprise. A completely unexpected end is going to blow your mind and make you question the existence of people surrounding you who claim to be your best friends and well wishers. Appearances can be deceptive and this book is a perfect example. No doubt it has become one of my best reads of 2018. I highly recommend this book to all my lovers of thriller out there. Go ahead and pick up this book, you surely won’t be disappointed.
