Ishigami is a high school maths teacher living next door to Yasuko who is a single mom trying hard to provide well for her daughter Misato. Yasuko works in a small lunch shop to earn her living where Ishigami visits everyday to get his lunchbox. But her life takes a drastic turn when her ex husband Togashi turns up unexpectedly. He demands her up to patch up things or else he won’t leave them alone. But what Togashi didn’t expect is that meeting them would end his life. Moreover Ishigami, the brilliant mathematician also gets involved in the murder. When the detectives try to solve the case they face severe hurdles in finding a suspect. Everyone connected seems to have an alibi for that evening. What exactly happened that evening? How come there are no clues linking to any suspect? It is a brilliantly written fast paced thriller which is going to blow your mind. This is not a typical murder mystery where you don’t know the killer until the last page but it is the one where you know the killer from the very beginning but the way the coverup was done will leave you astounded. There are lots of misleading evidence, everything seems to be a setup, everyone has an alibi,if not for the brilliant physicist Yukawa the true story would never be discovered. The police are being played by a genius man who has answer to every problem. He is two steps ahead of the police and has planned everything accordingly. It is a total roller coaster ride with unexceptional twists and turn. Just read this book. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
